More on human nature
This is just something that I marvel at. The human ability to rationalize completely opposite points of view when necessary:
Stories of anti-abortion women who have had abortions
This is something that people do all the time. They will find a way to rationalize the most ridiculous things as long as that means they don’t have to re-examine their core beliefs.

I think it happens to all of us…it is only the extent to which one is able to reconcile…I would guess we reconcile with opposites on small matters, and sometimes, like the anti-abortionists mentioned, on even more serious matters.
I’m not sure if you could call it rationalisation…perhaps people just subconciously ignore the contradictions and get on with life??!
